Motorola has launched Moto G (2nd Gen) few days back. It is the upgraded version of original Moto G (which was launched in Feb 2014). If you take a deep look on Moto G 2nd Gen, you will notice the difference in weight and hows the device feels in your hand. The new phone has weight of 149gm, while the old one has a 146gm. Moto G (2nd Gen) is a slimmer device i.e. 0.7mm slimmer than the previous one and it also has a thinner bezels. It has a 5inches screen as compared to privious one which has a 4.5 inches screen. It also has the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on screen which makes it quite strong and feel more premium. The design is same as that of previous one Moto G (original) but build more ergonomically and hence very comfortable to use.
Now we come up on the display and camera quality section, Moto G (2nd Gen) has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It has a 8 MP rear camera and 2 MP front camera. You can shoot the video up to 720p which is good resolution for a home/family videos. The picture quality is average. Images taken in low light are little bit noisy and grainy but in good/natural light colours are better but details are missing. Moto G (2nd Gen) can play 1080p movies in most of the common formats.
Performance is almost the same, but the Moto-G (2nd Gen) feels just a little bit faster than a Moto-G(original) due to some more software optimization. The Moto-G (2nd Gen) has same hardware that was also in previous Moto-G.
The Moto G (2nd Gen) phone comes with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and 1GB of RAM. The Moto-G (2nd Gen) has 16GB internal memory and if you need more space then buy a micro-SD card expandable upto 32GB. It has an 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 2MP Front camera. As see in connectivity context it supports GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G and Micro-USB.
The smartphone packs with a 2070 mAh battery. When used with 3G, the Moto G (2nd Gen) lasts around 14 hours with medium to heavy use. If you don't have too many emails and social media accounts connected to the phone, you will get even better battery life.
Moto G (2nd Gen) comes with a proximity sensor which turns off the display when you are on a call. The accelerometer controls the orientation of the phone and helps with motion gaming. The ambient light sensor adjusts the screen's brightness for optimal viewing in different conditions. It also has a magnetometer for navigation apps.
